How to Know God

Every Man Has Broken God’s Law
Romans 3:20,23- Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

The law-Ten Commandments was not given as a system of deeds to “justify” or make us right before God. The Bible clearly states, “by the law is the knowledge of sin”. We understand that we are sinners because of the fact that we have not been able to keep the law. Have you ever told a lie? Then you have broken one of the commandments in the Law and you are a sinner, because the Bible says, “Thou shalt not bear false witness…” (Exodus 20:16)

Jesus Christ Was Sent To Pay Sins Penalty
Galatians 4:4,5- But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Romans 3:24,25- Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

God in His grace (undeserved favor) sent Jesus Christ His Son to redeem (pay the penalty) for our sins on the cross. We are justified (made right) through, and only through the sacrifice that Jesus offered of Himself for our sins. We could never pay/repay the fact that we have broken the law by our deeds (church attendance, baptisms, good deeds) because Jesus made the necessary payment (propitiation) by offering Himself for our sins.

Eternal Life In Heaven Was Provided Through Jesus’ Sacrifice and Resurrection
1 Peter 1:3,4- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.

God in His Mercy sent Jesus Christ to be the sacrifice for our sins. He was placed in a tomb and three days later rose from the dead. Jesus’ resurrection gives a living hope that transcends this world, and its cares and problems by giving an inheritance, which gives something to look forward to in Heaven.

We Must Repent of our Sins, and Recognize Jesus as our Lord and Savior in order to Have Eternal life in Heaven
Acts 3:19- Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…

Romans 10:9,10-That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

To “repent” means to have a change of mind, and direction. The Bible clearly states that in order for conversion (a spiritual change from sin to righteousness) to take place and our sins to be paid for we must repent. This repentance takes place with a heart of faith while recognizing Jesus Christ as our Lord –the master of our life-the payment of our sins.

Are you willing to recognize that you have broken God’s law and a sinner? Are you willing to understand that you cannot save yourself, and that Christ was offered as the payment of your sins? Are you willing to recognize Jesus as your Lord-pledging your allegiance to Him as your master repenting of your sins? If so-Why don’t you call upon God, and let Him know that you want eternal life right now through Jesus Christ?

If you sincerely called upon God asking Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior repenting of your sins you have claimed God’s promise of eternal life.
